The Optum Enterprise Epic Services (OEES) team is building an innovative, comprehensive Epic services capability using the collective expertise of our clinical, consulting, delivery, technology and operations teams. We have the ability and scale to help our clients both envision and implement new approaches that drive meaningful, enduring and positive change.

Youll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Must be able to travel up to 10%

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide Epic product function, design, build, and testing expertise for assigned Epic module(s)
  • Collaborate with end users to design, build and optimize their Epic system in a timely and high-quality manner
  • Ensure appropriate decisions, follow-up questions, and workflows/configuration clarifications are completed and documented
  • Facilitate communication with stakeholders from initial requirements to final implementation
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and manage changes to specifications
  • Contribute in Epic upgrade initiatives or enhancements to workflows including the design, build, and test phases; troubleshoot problems and questions from end users
  • Provide Technical / Clinical / Revenue cycle workflow consultation including application configuration
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate system needs to develop recommendations for customers
  • Work with trainers to develop and maintain application specific training curriculum and materials
  • Adhere to organization standards for system configuration and change control
  • Troubleshoot and/or resolve application issues and escalate more complex issues as appropriate
  • Determine staffing requirements and supervise the work of any direct reports to ensure effective and efficient group functioning
  • Provide support of application incidents reported through the help desk, including 24/7 on call coverage as required

    Required Qualifications:

    • At least one active Epic certification(s) with proof of certificate number(s)
    • Ability to travel up to 10% annually, USA domestic locations. Travel may be lower depending on project requirements.
    • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements.       Preferred Qualifcations:

      • Completed Epic CEE (Continued Epic Education) to maintain certifications, proficiencies, and badges
      • Any combination of certifications and/or experience
      • Experience with Epic systems build, test, optimization, support and training with clinical and revenue workflows
      • Ability to demonstrate and have a history of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills
      • Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint
      • Ability to travel 25% of the time e.g., Monday thru Thursday, depending on the role and project requirement

        • Teamwork and Collaboration experience Consultative and collaborative style with demonstrated ability with cross-functional and matrixed teams

        • Demonstrate solid relationship management skills and ability to handle challenging interpersonal situations

          Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
