Variety the Children's Charity of St. Louis (Variety) is looking for a talented Senior Coordinator of Communications to help share the stories of our historic charity and the Variety Kids who benefit from our services. Variety impacts local children with disabilities by providing access to vital medical equipment and therapies as well as the opportunity to participate in innovative recreation and performing arts programs. The successful candidate will be passionate about the Variety mission of making the impossible possible, helping build a world where children's abilities are redefined, and possibilities are reimagined.



As Senior Coordinator of Communications, you will play a critical role in building awareness of our mission and vision across multiple audiences in the greater St. Louis region through the development of written content and the implementation of cross-channel communication campaigns and tactics.



The Senior Coordinator of Communications will:

• Develop written content for all organizational communications across various audiences, platforms, and communication channels. - - - -
• Develop graphics for various purposes coordinating with outsourced graphic designer as needed. - - - -
• Coordinate the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral. - - - -
• Coordinate with vendors for the execution of visual and print needs including printers, photographers, videographers, and graphic designers. - - - -
• Develop, execute and manage all email marketing activities and campaigns. - - - -
• Oversee utilization of brand guidelines by internal and external parties to ensure consistency in brand message and appearance across all channels. - - - -
• Support, with the Director of Development, the development and implementation of the annual communications plan. - - - -
• Coordinate the communications calendar to ensure a constant and effective stream of contact with key constituents and ensuring all deadlines are met. - - - -
• Coordinate development of content and monitoring of all social media channels as well as monthly reporting and data analytics. - - - -
• Develop written content for funding proposals from various foundations, corporations, governmental sources, and other grant makers. - - - -
• Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, write press releases and coordinate other public relations activities.
  
  A successful candidate will have/be:

  • A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in communications, public relations or related field. - - - -
  • A minimum of three years of experience in communications and writing, preferably in the non-profit sector. - - - -
  • A strong and effective communicator with experience writing in different styles and for different audiences. - - - -
  • Experience in social media management, targeted e-mail marketing, media relations and managing cross-channel campaigns. - - - -
  • Experience with WordPress, or a similar CMS platform, as well as Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva is a plus. - - - -
  • Knowledge of e-mail marketing platforms also a plus. - - - -
  • An innovative and strategic thinker who is driven by results and is deadline oriented. - - - -
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced changing environment. - - - -

    The Senior Coordinator of Communications role is full time (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday role (with occasional nights and weekends) and will work primarily at Variety's office location in Westport Plaza in St. Louis, Missouri.
