Technical Expertise: Java, Perl, GEOINT productsPosition OverviewLeidos is seeking a Software Engineer Lead with expertise in database management, software engineering, and geospatial data processing to support mission-critical operations. The ideal candidate will manage GEOINT databases, automate data workflows, and collaborate across multiple security domains to ensure seamless data integration and secure dissemination.This position requires strong programming skills in Java and Perl, experience with geospatial database technologies, and the ability to engage with customers, stakeholders, and leadership in a highly secure environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase Management & Spatial Content Generation

• Manage and maintain geospatial databases, including country and state boundary generation.
• Develop, optimize, and enhance data ingestion, validation scripts, stored procedures, and database code for accuracy and efficiency.
• Integrate and optimize Oracle Spatial, ArcSDE, and SDO_Geometry for improved data integrity and visualization.Software Engineering & Automation
  • Maintain and enhance Perl scripts, Java code packages, and database constructs to improve automation and efficiency.
  • Develop schemas, stored procedures, and validation tools to ensure seamless integration of GEOINT products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software and database issues to ensure high availability and integrity of GEOINT data.Collaboration & Cross-Domain Support
    • Work across multiple security domains (NIPRnet/Xenon, SIPRnet, JWICS) to facilitate secure data integration and dissemination.
    • Engage with stakeholders, product owners, and data users to optimize data structuring, usability, and distribution.
    • Serve as the primary technical representative for customer briefings and discussions related to database and data dissemination.Public Speaking & Customer Engagement
      • Develop and deliver technical briefings, presentations, and reports to customers, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
      • Confidently represent the organization in customer-facing engagements, ensuring effective communication of technical concepts.
      • Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and training for internal and external stakeholders.Basic Qualifications
        • 5+ years of experience designing databases and integrating GEOINT products.
        • Strong proficiency in Perl scripting, Java development, and database engineering.
        • Extensive experience with Oracle Spatial, ArcSDE, and SDO_Geometry.
        • Proven ability to optimize and automate data ingestion, validation, and dissemination workflows.
        • Experience supporting software operations and maintenance for GEOINT content dissemination.
        • Understanding of cross-domain data management and security protocols (NIPRnet/Xenon, SIPRnet, JWICS).
        • Strong public-speaking and presentation skills, with experience briefing leadership and customers.
        • Security+ certification required.
        • Top Secret clearance required to start, with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph post-hire.Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have, but Not Required)
          • Experience in government, defense, or intelligence environments.
          • Familiarity with cloud-based GIS and database solutions.
          • Knowledge of automation frameworks and DevSecOps best practices.
          • Certifications in Database Management, GIS, or Software Engineering.
          • Previous experience leading technical discussions and customer briefings.Soft Skills & Collaboration
            • Ability to engage across multiple offices, ensuring database alignment and integration.
            • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex software and database issues.
            • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.
