Job Description Job Description Overview Shriners Children's St. Louis has an opportunity for a full-time / day shift Pediatric Registered Nurse in our Inpatient Unit. You will provide direct patient care for children with a variety of different orthopedic conditions ranging from mild to complex. This involves providing Med-Surg and ICU level of nursing care. Hours: This full-time day shift position works 72 hours bi-weekly and every 3rd weekend. Responsibilities The Inpatient RN is responsible for the coodination of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transitions of care. The RN supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family. This position will provide leadership by acting as an informal and formal leader, preceptor and through quality improvement efforts. Must have excellent communication skills and be skillful in mentoring and teaching. Note: This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities. The incumbent may be required to perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Qualifications Required: BSN degree or in process Missouri RN License Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Preferred: 2 years bedside RN experience (will consider new grads) Pediatric and ICU experience Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
