Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring an active IL license, ambulatory/outpatient pre- and post-op experience, and EPIC proficiency. Responsibilities - Work in the PACU of an acute care hospital - Focus on ambulatory preoperative and Phase II postoperative care for surgical, cath lab, and radiology outpatients - Unit has 19 beds with an average daily census of 25 - Patient ratio is typically 1:4 on days - Schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts from 10:00 to 20:30, Monday through Friday, with a rotating day off - No weekend or on-call requirements - Floating within service line to affiliated hospitals as needed - Works with EPIC EMR, and experience is required - Navy blue scrubs required - Provide comprehensive preoperative and post-anesthesia nursing care to varied outpatient populations - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a Magnet-designated environment - Mandatory modules and fit testing must be completed before start; facial hair must allow for proper fit testing - No RTO (requested time off) allowed the first week; maximum of 7 days RTO during a 13-week contract - Not open to local candidates within a 75-mile radius - Permanent former employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler - Must complete orientation modules prior to start date Requirements - Active IL RN license required at time of consideration - BLS certification required; ACLS preferred - Minimum of 1 year recent PACU, ambulatory, or outpatient pre/post-op experience - Phase II recovery experience required - Previous charge experience preferred - Experience with EPIC charting system required - Must live at least 75 miles from the facility - First-time travelers are accepted Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627087.
