Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/10/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position in a skilled nursing and rehab setting, requiring an active IL RN license and IV certification. Responsibilities - Work in skilled nursing and rehabilitation units within a long-term care facility - Med/Surg patient population including dementia and surgical rehab cases - Direct patient care with up to 20 residents per nurse and an average daily census of 72 - Uses PowerChart for electronic medical records - Night shift position (3x12 hours, 18:30-7:00), open to shift negotiation but must include some weekends - May be required to change to day shift if needed during the contract - No on-call responsibilities - Free parking available on site - Responsibilities include direct patient care, administering IV medications, and wound care - Will work closely with CNAs and HCAs as part of the care team - Excellent customer service skills are expected - Specialized equipment such as lifting devices will be used - First time travelers are welcome to apply - Required to work every other weekend as requested by the center - Must wear any shade of blue scrubs - No modules required prior to start - No restrictions on local candidates as long as they meet the radius rule Requirements - Active IL RN license required at time of consideration - Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg, LTC, SNF, or assisted living experience required - IV certification required before starting - BLS and ACLS certifications required - Dementia training or experience is highly recommended - Experience with PowerChart EMR preferred - Must provide proof of license at time of consideration - RTO (time off) requests only approved at time of offer; no additional requests after offer - Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility - Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627576.
