Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: OR - Operating Room - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 13 weeks - 40 hours per week - Shift: 10 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with IL RN license and strong cardiac OR competency for a dayshift position with required call and floating. Responsibilities - Work in the Operating Room of an acute care, Magnet-designated hospital - Day shifts consist of four 10-hour shifts per week, starting at 6:45 AM and ending at 5:15 PM - Call is required, with weeknight shifts from 5:15 PM to 6:30 AM and 24-hour weekend call shifts - Floating required between primary site and nearby affiliate campuses as needed - Must be able to first scrub independently across multiple service lines and also function in a circulator role - Patient population includes endovascular/hybrid, neuro-spine, ENT, ortho, and robotic specialty cases - Uses EPIC charting system; Epic experience is necessary - Responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for a broad range of surgical procedures with a preference for circulator/scrub combination candidates - Must provide strong cardiac OR support and work independently following a brief orientation - Navy scrubs required - No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract, and no time off permitted during the first week - Permanent employees must wait one year before returning to the facility as a traveler - Rotation may include occasional 3-day weekends when possible - Fit testing required and travelers must comply with facial hair policies - No local employees within a 75-mile radius and return staff must adhere to specified rehire timelines Requirements - Active IL RN license required at time of consideration; no pending licenses accepted - Minimum of 2 years of recent operating room RN experience - BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred - Experience and ability to scrub and circulate independently across multiple surgical service lines, including cardiac OR - Ability to quickly become independent after a short orientation to surgeon preferences - Must live outside a 75-mile radius from the facility; local candidates not accepted - First-time travelers are welcome to apply Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-608719.
