Assistant (PTA) Opportunities! PRN Overview: Looking for
flexibility and purpose in your work? As a PRN Physical Therapist
Assistant (PTA) at Mercy, you’ll have the opportunity to make a
meaningful impact—on your schedule. Working under the supervision
of a licensed Physical Therapist, you’ll help patients of all ages
regain strength, mobility, and independence through skilled,
compassionate care. Whether you're supporting a busy day or
covering for a teammate, your role is vital to our mission of
healing. What You’ll Do: Deliver hands-on physical therapy
interventions including therapeutic exercises, gait training, wound
care, and modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation
Modify treatment techniques based on patient response, within the
scope of the established plan of care Provide age-appropriate care
from neonates to geriatric patients, adapting communication and
techniques accordingly Document patient progress clearly and
promptly, including pain assessments and treatment outcomes
Communicate effectively with patients, families, therapists, and
the care team Support Physical Therapy Aides and help coordinate
daily workflow as needed Qualifications: Education: Associate’s
degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Licensure: Current PTA license in the state of Missouri
Certifications: Current BLS certification from the American Heart
Association Experience: Entry-level candidates welcome; strong
communication and clinical skills are key Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for extended periods, and
perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and reaching We
