Critical adult, pediatric and burn patients are transferred to specialty hospitals in St. Louis, Missouri. Helicopter and advance life support ambulances are utilized. Overview Role Purpose Responsible for emergency medical care in the pre-hospital environment. Works under on-line and off-line medical control providing basic life support. Provides direct patient care under the supervision of the RN in the Emergency Department or Paramedic. Responsibilities * Supports and assists with the delivery of patient care, under the direction of the RN or Paramedic. * Assists with the maintenance and cleaning of patient care equipment. * Performs routine equipment function tests and calibrations. * Assists with the inventory of supplies and equipment ensuring adequate supply levels. * BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
