Job Description:
Sr. Manager Food Safety and QualityThe duties and
responsibilities of the Sr. Manager Food Safety and Quality will
include:Manage all aspects of Quality Control and Assurance,
Regulatory Issues, and Food Safety Issues to ensure that all
products meet regulatory requirements and company / customer
specificationsOversee, direct, and participate in Quality Assurance
and Regulatory Department needs, functioning as the primary SQF
PractitionerDevelop, manage, and track departmental budgetWork
closely with Production, Plant Manager and Production Supervisors
to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and the Company
s Food Safety and Quality ProceduresLead and manage Root Cause,
Corrective Action, and Non-Conformance ProgramCommunicate
customers/consumers, FDA, USDA, and other regulatory bodies as
neededReview, compile, and interpret daily/weekly operating testing
data, summaries reports, and reviewing with management. Any
trending items review, track and monitor to address on-going
issueDemonstrates active leadership and personal accountability in
continuous improvement processes and projectsManage, lead, develop,
and discipline departmental personnelLead and assist in the
development and implementation of the Food Safety Fundamentals,
Food Safety Plan, Food Quality Plan, and SQF
systemsSecondary:Oversee and participate as needed in GMP audits
for the plantProvide troubleshooting, problem analysis and
technical support to all departments and personnel as neededWork in
cross functional teams to remove barriers within and between
departmentsAdvises management on food safety and quality related
issuesAssist in maintaining SQF certification and participate in
regulatory, 2nd, and 3rd party auditsAssist in the training of
personnel on food safety and quality proceduresOversee and
participate in Supplier Approval Program (traveling as needed to
inspect and/or approve)Coordinate and report on annual reports to
management staffComplete professional trainingAssist with the
verification and validation of all procedures pertaining to food
safety and quality programsTechnical Qualifications:Bachelor s
Degree in Science, Food Science / Culinary training
preferredMinimum 8 years in Quality, Food Quality and Safety
training preferredMinimum 5 years of supervisory experienceHACCP
trained and/or member of HACCP team or willing to become trainedSQF
Practitioner certification or willing to become trainedStrong
interpersonal and communication skills appropriate to all levels of
the companyStrong decision-making skillsAbility to be flexible,
nimble, and work in a dynamic / evolving industry**If you d like to
