Job Description Fleet Manager - ARTCO - St. Louis, MOAmerican River Transportation Company, LLCThis is a full-time, exempt level position.Overview of responsibilities:The Fleet Manager is responsible for the day-to-day safe and efficient operations of the business. This person will interact with all departments within the organization to insure for the smooth exchange of information and facilitation of company objectives.Skills required: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational aptitude. Basic computer skills are necessary.Key Responsibilities:Maintain and develop a high standard of workplace safetyWork closely with logistics to accomplish customer objectivesWork closely with maintenance department to maintain a high standard of equipment careAssist accounting department in operational invoice reconciliationsDirect responsibility for the development and supervision of operations supervisorsProvide written evaluation of supervisorsParticipate in daily crew changesContinual analysis and improvements of operational efficienciesMaintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplaceConduct housekeeping inspectionsBuild discharge/load plansIssue daily operational directivesControl labor costCoordinate scheduling of employeesResponsible for the hiring process and maintaining adequate staffing levelsEnsure compliance with ADM policy and ProcedureEnsure compliance with ARTCo Towing Safety Management System (TSMS)Enforce all company policiesCollaborate with necessary entities (customers, barge lines, surveyors, agents) to provide amicable resolve to ship damages and operational issuesProvide special project management as neededWork a rotating schedule that includes weekend coverage and an "on-call" after hour statusJob Requirements:Experience in logistics and/or planning.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.Accurate telephone etiquetteEvening and weekend availability requiredThis position will also require working on the telephone, sitting for extended periods of time, walking ramps and climbing stairs and ladders.
