Job Description:
As a Region Landfill Engineer at Waste Connections, you will be
crucial in ensuring the efficient and environmentally responsible
operation of landfill facilities across the region. This position
involves leading and managing the engineering aspects of landfill
operations, designing and implementing landfill operations plans,
and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Your role will be pivotal in sustaining Waste Connections'
commitment to providing outstanding waste management solutions
while minimizing environmental impact and enhancing community
welfare. Develop, implement, and oversee the engineering
strategies, plans, and procedures for landfill operations. Ensure
compliance with environmental regulations and work to minimize
environmental impact. Conduct and oversee technical and feasibility
studies and site investigations. Manage and supervise landfill
construction, operations, and closure plans. Liaise with government
officials, environmental agencies, and the public on issues related
to landfill operations. Prepare reports and documentation for
internal and external use and ensure accurate maintenance of
records. Monitor landfill gas collection and control systems for
optimal performance. Collaborate with other departments to
integrate waste management strategies effectively. Strong
proficiency in civil and environmental engineering principles,
especially related to landfill design and operations. Excellent
project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability
to use various types of engineering software for design and
analysis. Strong communication skills to effectively discuss and
explain complex issues. Leadership skills to manage teams and
projects efficiently. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance 401k Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly
desirable. Certifications related to environmental compliance and
safety management.
