Job Description Job Description Akkodis is seeking a CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift for a Contract to Hire with a client in St. Louis, MO. The ideal candidate must be able to read production drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances, set up machines per print, and perform in-process inspections to ensure quality output. Note: 2nd shift 2:45pm - 1:15am CT Monday - Thursday Rate Range: $18.00/hour - $23 $2/hour (shift differential) on Contract to Hire (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.) CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift job responsibilities include: Set up CNC machines (mill and/or lathe) to run parts according to production drawings and specifications. Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet dimensional and tolerance requirements. Monitor machine operations throughout production to maintain quality and optimize productivity. Troubleshoot and resolve issues during machine operation to minimize downtime and maintain adherence to schedules. Complete regular and preventive maintenance on CNC equipment to ensure reliability and performance. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning machines before or after each shift. Required Qualifications: Technical degree in CNC machining or related specialty, or equivalent experience. 5–8 years of hands-on experience operating CNC equipment (mills and/or lathes) in a production environment. Ability to read and interpret production drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances accurately.
